Gatehouse Academy, the premier drug rehab center, has opened a new facility located 3.5 miles north of the mountainous city of Clark Fork, Idaho, and 38 miles from the Canadian border. Our new campus borders the National Forest. The new 80-acre ranch has a magic to it not unlike the breathtaking scenes from the movie "A River Runs Through it."
"The vision I have fostered for this company continues to be -- offering the highest level of care for our residents and providing them the opportunity to have an experience in recovery and acquire the life skills and tools that will ensure in order -- to turn out clean, sober and healthy individuals," explains Kent Sherman, President and CEO of Transitional Living Corp. (TLC) "We feel that our new "Foundation Program" in Idaho will deliver the powerful wilderness immersion that helps transform our residents. We now have 14 residents on location and room for 26 more."
The small-secluded ranch houses 40 residents. It is built on land which is surrounded by mountains, rivers, lakes, and forests. This wilderness oasis serves as the perfect first - stop for the most delicate and challenging first 90 days in recovery. With no big-city triggers and distractions, the initial small group setting speeds recovery.
Program Director, Destry Forgette, has worked with hundreds of young adults over the years while working at Gatehouse Academy comments: "Imagine a young person from an urban environment experiencing living off the land; eating fish they caught, seeing wild animals in their natural habitat, and hiking and skiing with the beauty of nature all around them." Just down from the property residents can fish at the "Clark Fork River" considered some of the best fishing in the Northwest!
