| From Strugglingteens.com Breaking News Fulshear Needville, TX Helping Women Understand Themselves At FulshearContact: Irene Kotter Strategic Development Coordinator 281-744-7539 ikotter@fulsheartransition.com www.fulsheartransition.com Fulshear Treatment to Transition assists each woman in understanding her personal strength and potential as well as the power she possesses to have positive influence among her family, peers, and community. Our Recovery Program contributes to this powerful change in the lives of these women by providing individualized attention to addiction issues. Each client develops new skills that facilitate the process of becoming a healthy, strong, and influential woman. Fulshear is an extensive program with an average length of stay of 8 - 10 months. During this time we focus on treating the issues (including trauma and attachment) that influence mental health and addiction. Because of the intense work and focus on these underlying issues we require clients to be at least 30 days substance-free before enrolling with us so they are more fully prepared to do the work required for healing. Fulshear provides an intensive support system for women on their journey of recovery and mental health. Our Recovery Program consists of the following elements:
recovery process. Many times clients "can't see the forest for the trees" so we focus on not only the addiction (trees) but also the underlying mental health issues (forest). So often clients become focused on treating just their addiction that they don't create space to work on beliefs that are associated with the addiction. We help them create that space." said Shawn Webb-Young LCDC-I, Recovery Program Coordinator At Fulshear we are afforded the opportunity to meet with each young woman both in group settings as well as private sessions to address her specific goals and aspirations within the context of our recovery program. As a result, we provide the flexibility to meet the needs of individuals while honoring their perspectives on sobriety and recovery. For example, we have worked closely with women who have chosen such diverse paths as AA, NA, CMA, SMART Recovery, and LDS Recovery. We have found that a client's willingness to engage in the sometimes arduous work of recovery is very much related to her level of comfort and connection with supportive programming. At Fulshear, our primary goal is to make that match and meet that need. Our clients experience long-term success in their recovery. Please join us in celebrating their lives: "This program has been phenomenal in my recovery. I have had such amazing support throughout it all. I have learned things that not only get me through each day but also get me through life. It has been more than amazing." Brittany - current client (over 5 months of sobriety) "My experience through Fulshear's chemical dependency program opened my eyes. It gave me other ways to approach my life....a new way of living a healthy, sober yet still fun and exciting life. The work I did with Shawn was life changing for me. Not only did I further my knowledge on my addiction but we explored how it was related to my other diagnosis. Through the program I found meaning to what I have gone through, support beyond anything I could have asked for and an amazing outlook on my life and recovery. I am extremely grateful for the work that was done here." Jacki (Fulshear Alumni who just celebrated 2 years of sobriety!)
