Summer Sojourn at Franklin Academy is quickly approaching! This creative program serves students ages 13-19 who have nonverbal learning differences, including Asperger's Syndrome.

The Summer Sojourn is comprised of two 2-week sessions: Session 1: July 1- July 14, 2009 and Session 2: July 16-July 29, 2009. Students may opt to come to one or both sessions. While engaged in content-specific areas of interest (Paths) students have fun, make friends and improve social and independent living skills.

Popular areas of interest (Paths) available include Arts and Humanities, Science and Technology, Planet Earth, Animals, Writing, Leadership and for an additional fee, Self Discovery, for students needing updated testing or re-evaluation.

In addition to the content paths, afternoon activities include swimming, biking, hiking, fishing, arts and crafts and golf and field and gym sports. Evening activities include campfires and bbq's, astronomy, movies and cooking and weekend excursions include beach trips, concerts, summer stock theatre, shopping and camping throughout Connecticut, New York City and Boston.
