Explorations is proud to announce that Marian Stonehocker, Residential Counselor at Explorations HomeBase program, was recently awarded the first "Excellence in Service Award" for the Rocky Mountain Region of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP). Mrs. Stonehocker was chosen from a field of nine nominees from various schools and programs at NATSAP's recent Rocky Mountain Regional conference in Sandpoint, ID and presented the award and a Kindle Fire by Regional President, Nick Hong of Montana Academy and Conference Chair, Jason Calder of Summit Preparatory School.

Mrs. Stonehocker was nominated by her students, who submitted a heartfelt video during which they described her dedication, talent and support. Click here to see what her students have to say.

Upon receiving the award, Mrs. Stonehocker thanked her students and co-workers. She stated to the 90 conference attendees that "…any of us in this room are worthy of this recognition for the work done every day with students in our programs." Congratulations, Mrs. Stone!
