Eight College Excel students and one staff braved the icy waters of the Deschutes River in near freezing temperatures for Special Olympics Oregon in the 2012 Bend Polar Plunge. Team College Excel collected pledges and then, dressed in costume or bathing suit, voluntarily jumped, dove or dashed into the frigid and icy Deschutes River along with hundreds of other participants. All participants received a tee shirt, bowl of hot chili, satisfaction for support of a great cause, plus bragging rights for having participated. Team College Excel came in third of over 100 participating teams in fundraising, having raised over $2600.

College Excel focuses on turning on the tuned-out or discouraged college learner. Using the most advanced coaching and teaching techniques available, we strive to train our students to perform on levels they thought impossible. College Excel uses academic and life coaches to walk students through college and give necessary support.
