Five College Excel students braved the icy waters of the Deschutes River in sub-zero weather to raise over $1700 for Special Olympics Oregon in the 2011 Bend Polar Plunge. Team College Excel collected pledges and then, dressed in costume or bathing suit, voluntarily jumped, walked or dashed into the frigid and icy Deschutes River along with hundreds of other participants. All participants received a t-shirt, bowl of hot soup, satisfaction for support of a great cause, plus bragging rights for having participated in the coldest Polar Plunge on record. Kudos Team College Excel!
