| From Strugglingteens.com New Perspectives Harris, New York The Center for Discovery is both a residential and a day program for children and adults with multiple disabilities including, but not limited to, mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, seizure disorders, blindness, and behavioral concerns. The Center is a place where both children and adults who face even the most severe challenges can be reached through “innovative learning opportunities, creative programs, and ingenious technology”, all of which are used to help them learn to live more independently. The children’s program includes a nature-based educational program, health/medical and clinical services, physical education and rehabilitation, and music and art therapy.
