CALO (Change Academy Lake of the Ozarks) has just announced a reduction in their base tuition rate. Their average tuition had been hovering at about $10,000 per month. They are now moving to a rate of $8,850 per month. Explains CALO CEO Dr. Ken Huey, "With the economy tightening, we are seeing more and more families struggling with the expense of treatment. We do not want cost to be the reason a family cannot get the help they need." Dr. Huey related that CALO has been fortunate to enjoy solid growth and a strong reputation. "That has led to a situation where we can afford to give back to families in need." CALO intends on continuing with lowered tuition as long as the economy is in recession and families are in need of financial help.

Located on the shores of the Lake of the Ozarks, CALO works within their beautiful environment to treat teens struggling with issues of trauma and attachment. CALO uses no level systems; instead they create growth by harnessing relationships as the primary change agent. They are widely known for using Golden Retrievers to teach lessons of "transferable attachment" to students. All CALO students work with purebred Golden Retrievers in the program. Many actually go through an adoption process and take a Golden home with them.
