As those who regularly read this website are aware, there are increasing calls for new, more personally relevant forms of education. There is a felt notion within this call that young people today can benefit from being given space and encouragement to pursue their natural, creative, and intuitive inclinations, while not ignoring traditional learning. From elementary charter schools to experience-oriented high schools, new developmental ideas are emerging around the world in a response to what Sir Kenneth Robinson refers to as the "education revolution." We're excited to announce that our integrative gap year program - Britepath - is also a response to this call.

We began developing Britepath just over five years ago, in the midst of a ten year exploration and examination of the education and therapeutic fields. Ultimately, we felt that we could best contribute by creating a learning system that amplifies the interconnectedness and inseparability of the individual with the world around them - not in concept - but in direct experience. This is a notion just starting to trickle down from modern physics and neurology into the mainstream social sciences, as we become more aware of the ability of the right hemisphere of the brain.

Perhaps the most easily distinguishable feature of Britepath is how we embrace the dynamic and unpredictable nature of life as each student's most valuable learning asset. Going beyond recognizing the generalizable life lessons we can all learn, we suggest that life presents lessons that are uniquely specific to each of us. This, in turn, allows us to fit our individuality into the world in a manner that benefits the individual and the world simultaneously. Our main role at Britepath is to teach our students how to listen to what life is communicating to them, and help them discover the courage to embrace their path, even if it's a little different.

Based out of Boise, Idaho, we work with college-aged young adults who are struggling to find their place in the world. We are also an option for young adults who simply want a gap year experience with a facilitated personal growth component. We hope to work with students, parents, and professionals who are looking for an alternative perspective and pathway for young people to find where they fit into our world. We have an admissions window for our third cohort opening during winter break, beginning with a trip through Central America. We look forward to working with you as we step forward in this exciting time in our field.
