Benchmark Transitions is proud to announce that 13 Benchmark Young Adult School students received their high school diplomas during the Redlands Adult School graduation ceremony at the historic Redlands Bowl on June 12, 2009. Four of those students were the proud recipients of the Benchmark Young Adult School nationally accredited private school diploma: Harry M., Donald P., Jackie R. and Robert B. The Benchmark Young Adult School educational curriculum is accredited by the National Association of Private Schools Association Group. These are the first diplomas ever awarded under our national accreditation.

Redlands Adult School (RAS) diplomas were awarded to: Brian W., Kyle R., Michael M., Kevin O., Cory E., Louise B. and Patrick O. Two students walked across the stage to obtain their GED, and both will continue their education to earn a diploma: Isabella A. and Katherine N.

RAS graduate, Mike M., received the California Council for Adult Education - Adult Educators of Redlands/Yucaipa AERY Chapter Scholarship for $500.00 as well as an Outstanding Student Award, as he completed 187.50 credits in 12 months. Benchmark Transitions student, Kevin O., was featured as one of the class speakers. His speech and photo published in The Daily Facts, Redlands local newspaper on June 14th.

The annual Benchmark Young Adult School Scholarship was awarded to RHS student, Lisa L., for overcoming her many obstacles to earn her high school diploma. Her goal is to attend classes at San Bernardino Valley College for Registered Nursing.
