Auldern Academy is pleased to announce that we have recently our collaboration with Vicki Jones and Barb Cass of Parent Coach Professionals to provide a much needed service to our families. Barb and Vicki, two seasoned professionals will provide coaching specific to our parents at crucial times in the program. Each family will receive coaching at the beginning as they settle in and then again just prior to graduation as they plan for transition to other schools, home or college.
Gail Gustafson, the Director of Counseling Services at Auldern states, "We are thrilled to have these two women working with us on behalf of our families. We know that their work will help parents better understand their role while their daughters are in treatment. Parent already feel more at ease and are more understanding of the process."
Ms. Gustafson has been key in the continual evaluation of our services, making changes to improve and grow. She directly oversees the clinicians and therapeutic offerings. During her tenure, she has added the "Voices" programming, a gender specific, evidence-based curriculum designed to help young women better understand themselves and set goals for the future. She has also been key in the further development of our Rites of Passage program for high school graduates which now accepts students from any school. The addition of Parent Coaching comes with the desire to also help parents take the steps they need to better support their daughters as they grow into young adulthood.
