On June 11th, Solacium's Alldredge Wilderness Journey became one of the first wilderness programs in the country to receive a comprehensive accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

Known for its rigorous process and standards, JCAHO accreditation is most commonly associated with hospitals and clinics. Alldredge's commitment to the highest national standards for safety and quality of care was recognized by JCAHO as it received full accreditation for all services surveyed.

"JCAHO accreditation highlights our absolute commitment to excellence", commented Hunter Powell, Executive Director of Alldredge. "I am very proud to be part of a team that is so dedicated to providing quality and effective treatment to the students and families we serve."

Alldredge Wilderness Journey is a licensed, year-round wilderness program for at risk boys and girls ages 13 through 18 who are experiencing behavioral and emotional problems. Located in the beautiful Canaan Valley of North Central West Virginia, the two phased therapeutic and academic experience has an average length of stay of 60 days with the option for extended stay to focus on emotional growth and academics. Alldredge provides innovative and clinically sophisticated programming that includes individual and group counseling, family therapy, academics, and experiential learning.
