The Greenwood School is a pre-preparatory boarding school where 40 bright boys ages 9-15 are empowered to bridge the gap in language based learning difficulties and master grade level skills in reading, writing, spelling or mathematics. Upon entering Greenwood, all students are assessed to determine current levels of functioning.

“Research and design provide the best academic program and learning environment possible for the comprehensive education of students with dyslexia and related language difficulties.” Greenwood’s academic philosophy is to build self-confidence with an academic foundation by “helping students reach their true potential and enjoy a successful experience in higher education.”

At Greenwood, the staff strives to reawaken the enthusiasm for learning by offering a full pre-preparatory academic program that includes science, history, literature, art, music and athletics to ensure all students are intellectually challenged, “creatively inspired and factually informed.” “Eighty percent of Greenwood graduates succeed in meeting academic requirements for matriculation, and attend mainstream private and public high schools while the remaining 20 percent continue with secondary studies in specialized remedial schools.”

Greenwood offers its students a 100-acre campus with extensive extracurricular and creative opportunities.
