Benchmark Young Adult School announced today that Jayne Selby-Longnecker Harper, Executive Director, CEO and founder of Benchmark, will be honored at The Fifth Annual "Celebration of Women in Business" luncheon and fashion show on Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Richard Nixon Library. The "Celebration of Women in Business" award is presented by The Orange County Association of Health Underwriters (OCAHU), recognizing individual businesswomen for their contributions to their families, peers and community. Nominations were requested for women who inspire others with their leadership, energy, concern for others and their commitment to their business and community.

Tim Skaggs, who is married to Jayne's oldest daughter, Shelley, submitted the recognition award nomination in her honor. Tim is a member of OCAHU and works as a Senior Sales Account Executive for Health Net of California. "The 'Celebration of Women in Business' award seemed like a perfect fit for Jaynie," states Tim. "When I heard that OCAHU was accepting nominations for inspiring women, my first thought was to nominate my mother-in-law. She's considered to be a leader in her industry and is truly an amazing businesswoman."

The event features a luncheon, fashion show, guest speakers, industry vendors, as well as many local merchants and raffle drawings. Proceeds are to benefit the New Hope Grief Support Community. (www.newhopegrief.org)

Jaynie founded Benchmark Young Adult School in September, 1993.
