Kathy Whitmire, Executive Director of Cherokee Creek Boys School, will be leaving July 4th, 2007. Kathy will be missed by the students, staff, and families whose lives she's touched so positively. Her energy, enthusiasm and commitment will make her shoes hard to fill. We wish her all the best and will always be grateful for her care, creativity and devotion to the boys and staff of Cherokee Creek Boys School.

Kathy leaves a wonderful legacy and uncountable contributions from her tenure at CCBS. As a lifelong educator, Kathy must take well-deserved pride in leading the school through the accreditation process at lightening speed to receive full standing with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. She will also be remembered and appreciated for shepherding the school through the growth stages and challenges of the early-days, en route to a full campus of boys.

Ron, and I are putting a great deal of thought into a leadership transition plan for the school and we are confident that the campus team will ensure that the boys experience a healthy and appropriate transition and "goodbye." We will be spending more time on campus and will bring together all resources needed for a seamless transition.

In the meantime, we are launching an intensive effort to recruit a new Executive Director. Thanks to Kathy and the team, we believe our school has matured into a warm and stable environment that will appeal to the best candidates. If you have any suggestions or referrals please contact me, Saul Rudman, Consultant to CCBS, or Betsy Deane, our Admissions and Consultant Relations Director

Our boys continue to make great strides at our "little school with a big heart." We thank you for your confidence and faith in our team, and we will continue to work to earn your trust and confidence daily, as we move forward.

If you have any questions at all about the transition, please do not hesitate to call me.
