Discovery Academy Names
New Clinical Director

Discovery Academy is excited to announce Matt Hendry as the new Clinical Director, effective June 1, 2007. Ken Condie, the previous Clinical Director, is leaving to pursue his clinical interests with adolescents in treatment centers owned by his brother in northeast Wyoming.

Prior to being named the clinical director, Mr. Hendry worked as a therapist at Discovery Academy, developing Discovery Academy's substance abuse program and establishing himself as an authority in experiential therapy in the industry. Matt is a licensed substance abuse counselor, is ropes course certified, and is certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Many of you have worked with him during his nearly four years at Discovery Academy, and prior to that he worked several years at a family residential treatment center in Provo, Utah. He looks forward to merging his substance abuse counseling experience with his love of experiential therapy for the many students who come to Discovery Academy after completing wilderness programs.

Discovery Academy is a 85-bed co-ed clinical boarding school for 13-18 year old students located in Provo, Utah. It is a step-down program for students who have successfully completed a wilderness program or some other more intense RTC, specializing in individualized academics and experiential therapy. The school first opened in 1989.
