The non-profit that I founded, Saving Teens In Crisis Collaborative (www.savingteens.org), has been named the beneficiary for the New Charles River Run. Over 75% of the corporate sponsorship dollars raised will go directly to Saving Teens as well as a significant percentage of the general race proceeds. More information on the race can be found at www.newcharlesriverrun.com.
The 2007 New Charles River Run on June 24th is a reincarnation of the famed “Charles River Run” that took place on the Charles River in Boston from the mid 1970’s until 1995. The race allows long distance and short distance runners, walkers & wheelers a chance to participate and compete in a fun filled family event on the Charles River. Last year the race attracted 1500 runners and this year it is anticipated that over 2500 runners will enroll.
So how can you help?
- We are actively looking for corporate sponsors. Specific information on corporate sponsorships can be found at http://www.newcharlesriverrun.com/contact.html
- We need volunteers to help us run the race more cost effectively and insure that the maximum amount of the proceeds end up helping needy families. Specific information on volunteering can be found at http://www.newcharlesriverrun.com/volunteer.html
- The more people that run the race the more money we raise and greater the awareness of Saving Teens increases. There is something for everyone, a walk, a short run (5k), a longer run (7.5 mile) and a relay. So register at the website, come on out, and bring your friends, associates, and family!
- Forward this email on to people that you think would want to participate either as a sponsor, volunteer, or runner.
Although Saving Teens is a new charity, we have already accomplished a great deal, and are now in the process of funding and supporting our first teens. We have been awarded a federal grant of $100,000 from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, we have secured tens of thousands of dollars in pro bono services and scholarships, and we have further established our infrastructure to ensure that almost every penny donated to Saving Teens goes directly to helping troubled teenagers.
Thank you in advance for your support. It is deeply appreciated.
