First Institute to Provide Valuable Diagnostic and Assessment Data for Youth

The Aspen Institute for Behavioral Assessment, a full-service diagnostic and assessment facility for struggling teens, is now officially open in Syracuse, Utah.

The Institute, a program of Aspen Education Group, offers comprehensive, customized assessments for clinically complex young people who were previously difficult to diagnose due to a lack of coordinated clinical data. The primary purpose of the facility is to evaluate and assess, however therapeutic services (including individual, group and family therapy), chemical dependency treatment, education and recreation are also provided. The anticipated average length of stay at the Institute is four to six weeks.

“We’re very pleased to offer the first comprehensive diagnostic center that not only appropriately assesses teens, but provides an invaluable service to professionals and families as well,” said Jared Balmer, Ph.D, executive director of the Institute. “We recognize the need for a more complete assessment of adolescents who are somewhat difficult to match with the appropriate care, and look forward to providing the industry at-large with these services and the corresponding prescriptive protocols.”

“In keeping with Aspen Education Group’s tradition of being on the cutting-edge of behavioral therapeutic services, the Aspen Institute is in a unique position to help address the complex diagnoses of many of our nation’s young people,” said Elliot Sainer, president of Aspen Education Group. “This innovation, combined with some of the most highly respected individuals in the field, will create many new treatment possibilities and opportunities for success for these youth.”

The custom-built, licensed facility is specifically designed for a full range of comprehensive services, with 26 beds, classroom space, a dining area, and more. The Institute is accredited by The Joint Commission (www. jointcommission.org).
