Swift River Welcomes New Addictions Specialist To Clinical Team

Swift River welcomes Naadia Bacchus, MA, LMHC, CADAC to our counseling department. Naadia has been working at ASR since September, conducting addictions assessments of new students. She will be joining us on a more fulltime basis, and has joined the Mustangs Team.

Naadia received her Master's of Counseling form Antioch College in May 1998, and she worked at ASR back in 1999. She then worked at the Mt. Tom Mental Health Center,and is the Program Dir. of the First Choice Program--a substance abuse recovery program associated with the Chicopee District Court. Most recently Naadia was a recovery specialist at Noble Hospital in Westfield. Naadia, in collaboration with the Associate Director of Counseling, Mike Valuski, MA, CADAC, will be working to enhance all of the therapists' capacity to treat addictive behaviors.

Academy at Swift River is a coeducational college preparatory therapeutic boarding school located in Cummington, MA. The Academy's mission is to help underachieving teens get back on track. It's unique Life Phases Program integrates a cognitive and relational approach with the "Stages of Change" Model. Swift River serves adolescents ages 14-17 with a flexible length of stay ranging from 12-20 months.
