We would like to re-introduce ourselves. We are Hope Ranch….. and, we are NOT the Hope Ranch we used to be. Hope Ranch is a faith-based, therapeutic boarding school for girls located 26 miles outside Whitefish, Montana on 360 acres of the most magnificent forest property imaginable.
We have been in existence since 1999. However, under new management and new direction for the past three years, we have re-designed and re-defined ourselves – from top to bottom, inside and out. We have re-written our entire treatment program. It is called a “Journey to a Life of Christian Integrity” – a copyrighted program that consists of a 6-level “core curriculum” that provides for the flexibility of developing special components to address the uniqueness and individuality of every student.
This powerful new program moved us from a 24-month, time-based program to a progress-based program – where each student controls her own destiny, development, and time at Hope Ranch – and where the average time in-program is now 17 months. In these past three years, 32 girls have successfully completed their “Journey.”
The growth and success of any treatment program is dependent upon the people behind it.
- Administratively – Our Executive Director, Linda Carpenter, is a former president of the Washington State Board of Education, Currently serves as president of the newly-formed Northern Rocky Mountain Chapter of NATSAP. She has been one of the leaders in sponsoring and supporting legislation in Montana for the licensing of private therapeutic programs.
- Therapeutically – Our Clinical Director, Dianna Keane MS LCPC, oversees two masters-level social workers, and our youth pastor.
- Educationally – Star Meadows Academy, our accredited, on-site secondary school (grades 7-12) is directed by a masters-level, administrator, Roger Brewer, who oversees certified teachers (1:6 teacher-to-student ratio), rigorous academic offerings leading to a high school diploma, and an outdoor education/wilderness component.
- Residentially – Our Program Director, Pam Penrod, heads a team of BA-degreed, residential direct-care specialists. We have a student community where a positive peer culture exists and students encourage, teach, guide and mentor each other.
- Facility – We recently opened two new 2400 sq. ft. residential cabins, and the lodge building has been remodeled and renovated to house Star Meadows Academy along with the kitchen, dining room and staff offices.
We would like to invite you, as you plan your spring and summer visits, to seriously consider Hope Ranch. We provide a unique program niche that can enable you to better serve your clients. I would also like to invite you to visit our website at www.helpforgirls.org for a much more in depth description of our program and our client-service specialties.
