San Cristobal Academy Announces New Clinical Director

San Cristobal Academy announced the appointment of Dr. Linda Salvucci as the new Clinical Director. In her new role, Dr. Salvucci will help oversee all therapeutic activities for the families and students of San Cristobal Academy.
Dr. Salvucci comes to SCA with over 29 years of experience in the behavioral health field. She has worked in a variety of different settings including community mental health agencies, chemical dependency centers, hospitals, institutions and private agencies. Dr. Salvucci has experience as a detoxification technician, crisis therapist, primary counselor, clinical director and program director. "We are excited that Linda has joined our team. She brings with her a very strong professional and therapeutic background that will add to our team and fit our needs perfectly," Dave Johnson, CEO/Owner, San Cristobal Academy.
Dr. Salvucci is a graduate of Drake University and holds a Master's degree in Psychology and Counseling from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont. She received her Doctorate in Psychology with a specialization in clinical studies from Capella University. In addition, Dr. Salvucci has completed postdoctoral training in clinical psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She has also been trained in EMDR therapy.
Don Lewis, M.A. M.S., SCA's former Clinical Director, will now assume the role of Director of Residential Services. "These changes will strengthen San Cristobal Academy's life skills, recovery, and therapy components for 2007," said Johnson.
The San Cristobal Academy is a Transitional Learning Center, where students participate in classroom academics and field-based experiential education. SCA's mission is to offer and create an enriched therapeutic learning environment in which young men struggling with self-esteem issues, anger, depression, school failure and substance abuse can improve their minds, bodies and spirits..
