In early December, Intermountain Hospital made a significant decision regarding its Residential Treatment Center. We have decided to temporarily close our RTC, effective December 31, 2006, while we undergo a restructuring and reengineering of the program.
This decision will allow us to:
Complete the new residential treatment building and make needed modifications to our existing campus.
Enhance our therapeutic and clinical program.
Position us to serve the region and our residents for the long term.
Intermountain plans to immediately begin a process that will reengineer our adolescent residential services and we plan to reopen in 2007.
Intermountain Hospital is not closing - this decision affects only our adolescent residential treatment services. We will still provide the comprehensive acute inpatient mental health and substance abuse services for adults and adolescents as we have done for many years.
Even though we are not able to accept adolescents into our residential program at this time, we have information about many quality programs that we will be happy to refer you to.
We are confident that this decision, although difficult now, will position us to continue to serve the needs of our community and region for many years to come. We are committed to providing you - our referral partners - and the children and families we both serve, the best possible mental health and substance abuse services.
In the interim, if you have questions about this process, please contact Chuck Christiansen, Intermountain's Director of Business Development at (208) 375-5910 ext. 162. Thank you for your patience and consideration.
