The association sponsors accreditation for adventure and outdoor education organizations and programs. The accreditation process is a voluntary program of self-regulation that culminates in an external review and evaluation of participating organizations by outside experts. AEE accreditation reviewers evaluate organizations against a set of hundreds of published standards intended to address issues of quality and safety in outdoor education programs.
