Tree of Life Christian Wilderness Expeditions (TLCWE)/Wilderness Trails and Palmer Adventures have joined to form Oregon's newest outdoor youth program option. Their first trip is scheduled for mid-November and will be offered to parents at a greatly reduced cost, since it will coincide with staff training. The obvious benefit is that students will be in the field with Tree of Life and Palmer Adventures directors, Jim Yahne MAC CADC III and DB Palmer. In an unprecedented move, TLCWE will offer their first trek at roughly a quarter of the cost of most other programs.

The organization has been permitted in the wilderness for over thirty years and has traditionally offered programs, and still does, to local at-risk children. Directors Jim Yahne (founder of TLCWE) and DB Palmer (co-founder of the Adventure Academy USA) have amassed years of wilderness therapy work between them, including work for Catherine Freer, Soltreks, Second Nature, and Alaska Crossings. Yahne and Palmer have extensive experience within case management, clinical care, wilderness medicine, alcohol and drug treatment, behavioral treatment, and foster placements. With their expertise, TLCWE has secured only the fifth Outdoor Youth Program in the state of Oregon. They are the only exclusively Christian-operated program in the state and one of only a few in the entire nation.

This program has been featured on FISH radio in Orange County, California and KDOV in Medford. Parents looking to learn more about this program can call Palmer at the number, email or website listed above. Parents must mention this article to qualify for the tuition reduction. Space is limited to six students per trek, so parents must apply quickly for this one-time tuition reduction.
