Youth Care residential treatment center, a licensed and accredited center for troubled teens that recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, has announced the appointment of Bobbie Legg, PhD, LCSW, to Clinical Director. Dr. Legg is an established psychotherapist and specializes in the treatment of adolescent survivors of childhood trauma and abuse.
Dr. Legg brings over 15 years of experience working with adolescents in mental health treatment, including the last eight in a residential treatment center. She utilizes advanced psychotherapy techniques including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, addictions recovery, family therapy, play therapy, neuroscience, cross-cultural therapy and expressive therapies including sand tray, writing therapy, and art. She is a state and national speaker on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, adolescent treatment and adolescent self-expression.

Indeed Dr. Legg has the reputation of being an open and engaging therapist who quickly connects with adolescents and their families. She has received Social Work degrees as a BSW, MSW, and PhD from Eastern Mennonite University, The Catholic University of America, and The Clinical Social Work Institute. She received a BA in Camping, Recreation, and Outdoor Leadership from Eastern Mennonite University. Her training also includes completion of the Post-Graduate Trauma Treatment Program at the University of Maryland. Her research includes an ethnographic study of adolescent online social networking profiles. She is recognized as a Clinically Certified Juvenile Treatment Specialist through the American Academy of Forensic Counselors.
