The Region III Mental Health Center and the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch have partnered to bring Hugh F. Johnston MD to speak at a conference in Billings on September 20 and 21, 2007.
The title of the conference is "Bipolar Disorder from Cradle to Grave: How Age Matters." Dr. Johnston is clinical associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with certification in psychiatry and in children and adolescent psychiatry. He has more than twenty years of research and clinical experience, has authored many clinical and research publications and has been the recipient of numerous public and private research grants. Dr. Johnston's enthusiasm, clarity, and affective use of humor has earned him many teaching awards - the most recent the Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of Wisconsin Department of Psychiatry.
Also presenting is Amy Rock, MSSW, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker in Madison, Wisconsin. Rock's presentation will be on "Behavior Therapy Treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder." Her clinical practice has focused on young clients who suffer with anxiety disorders especially Obsessive Compulsive Disorder with the use of behavior techniques.
