Wilderness Treatment Center is proud to announce one of their alumni, Chad Hepler, has written a book, "Intervention: Anything but My Own Skin", about his treatment at Wilderness Treatment Center. This book aims to share his life lessons with those in or seeking recovery, as well as to give hope to parents. Wilderness Treatment Center endorses the book for anybody wanting to learn a firsthand account of our treatment center.

The book starts with a blow by blow account of his being picked up by a transport service early one morning, complete with his volatile thoughts and feelings while suffering from a hangover from his drinking the night before. His description of reactions when he learned that he was flying from Atlanta to Helena Montana was priceless.

The main focus of the story is his work, fears and accomplishments at Wilderness Treatment Center, with flash backs to the old drug and alcohol life experiences and the reasons he fell into the world of addiction. He wrote the book to share the life lessons he learned with not only those in recovery, but to also give hope to parents that have exhausted all local resources to help their child.

He summarized his experience as: "I learned so much about myself."

Chad is now a sober college graduate, author, speaker and addiction counselor. He looks back on his Wilderness Treatment Center experience as a crucial milepost at the beginning of the journey to recovery. Before he went to Montana, he had "no motivation to seek treatment.

The book can be ordered from amazon.com and is also available as a Kindle Edition.
