Oh-Gee!! Orton-Gillingham Comes to Whetstone Academy!

Gabi Gimenez was the first Montessori Coordinator at Whetstone Academy when we opened four years ago. But, alas, retirement doesn't sit well with Gabi! She has returned to offer 1:1 work with our boys in Orton-Gillingham as well as German or Spanish lessons.

Gabi is a graduate of the University of Munich, an AMS certified Montessori Teacher and is certified in the Orton-Gillingham Language Approach.

Why Orton-Gillingham?
O-G techniques have been in use since the 1930's and have been proven with thousands of students around the world. It is an intensive, sequential phonics-based system that teaches the basics of word formation. It is multi-sensory, structured, sequenced and cumulative. The Orton-Gillingham method teaches to a student's strengths while seeking to improve his weakness.

Whetstone Academy is a year round therapeutic boarding school for young boys ages 10 - 14. WA is full therapeutic program in a Montessori environment encouraging young men to discover their innate worth and nurture those gifts to fruition.
