Finally, a Hollywood film that will help dispel the pervasive stigma many in the general public have regarding residential treatment in therapeutic boarding schools. Well known Hollywood producer Jay Silverman joined Lon Feb. 9, 2015 to talk about his latest film "Girl on the Edge," which dramatizes his daughter's emotional struggles leading to and through a successful enrollment in a therapeutic boarding school in Utah. Jay is currently screening the film around the country and welcomes invitations to show the film to groups anywhere in the country in the next few months.
The movie, "Girl On the Edge' was directed by Jay Silverman (co-creator of A&E's drama The Cleaner) and written by Joey Curtis (co-writer of Blue Valentine).
The film stars Taylor Sprietler, Peter Coyote, Gil Bellows, Amy Price Francis, Amy Davidson, MacKenzie Philips, and the late Elizabeth Pena in her last on screen role.
