While travelling through Bonners Ferry with two of his boys, John Stewart, LCSW, Executive Director of New Haven, recently stopped by the Woodbury office for a visit and a discussion. He also took a few minutes to video-interview Lon, a project InnerChange has been pioneering for several years.
John has been practicing in the mental health field for the past twenty years, specializing in addictions, attachment, mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, and therapist training. He developed New Haven's trauma model, upon which most of their therapeutic interventions for PTSD hang. He has also developed and managed intensive outpatient and general outpatient programs for drug and alcohol services.
In addition to his position as Executive Director of New Haven, John is on the National Board of NATSAP and also serves on BYU's Social Work Alumni Organization.
New Haven RTC, an InnerChange Program, is a residential treatment program and boarding school for teen girls, ages 12-18. InnerChange provides educational, treatment, and recovery programs for adolescent girls and young women experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties. Our residential treatment and transitional living programs are clinically sophisticated and designed to facilitate whole-family healing.
