Frequently, when a person receives a mental health diagnosis, it is a shock. Lukas Stevens, a counselor at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch (YBGR), joined Lon May 6, 2015 to explain why this is so. Contrary to a medical diagnosis like a broken bone or a specific disease, people cannot see or measure a mental health disorder, are aware of a stigma in the popular press about it and the technical terms often sound very serious.
