In an interview with Lon Woodbury, on January 15, 2015, Dr. Brad Reedy, Co-Owner of Second Nature wilderness programs, talk about his book, The Journey of the Heroic Parent: Your Child's Struggle and the Road Home, which will be available late April. Reedy explained that instead of offering advice on how to raise your child, he approaches parenting as a process that provides parents with insight into themselves that stretches their boundaries and provides new insights. It is his belief that one of the best ways for a parent to help their child is to see to their own growth. Their child will be very responsive to a parent's state of mind, and when positive and growing, that influences positive growth in their child. In other words, a parent becoming a better person is a very powerful way to help their child become a better person.
