What in the world does dirty stinky jeans have to do with dying alone? What began as goodbye letter with "cheap laundry scare tactics" to snag her college bound daughter's attention that has made the rounds at Harvard, has turned into a book of "270 right sized morsels" of coming of age common sense, by author Becky Blades.

But on a serious note, there were messages and sneaky last minute lectures tucked in, on topics such as cell phone etiquette, budgeting and forgiveness. With teens attention being spent nearly 7 and ½ hours daily consuming media, a mother's "counsel has a lot of competition". So, how can a mom get through the distractions and get their young adults to listen?

How can we be sure our kids are prepared to know the things they need to know when they leave home or go to college? What about common courtesy? Is it outdated? Is this generation missing something? Do these young adults have a sense of entitlement?
