What do the terms "digital native" and digital immigrant" mean and where did they originate and why? If teens speak a different language than adults- how can we understand their language of technology when we will always speak it with an accent? Will there ever be an overlap between the world of the digital immigrants and the world of the natives?

Malissa Morrell is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a nationally board-certified art therapist who has worked with children, adolescents and their families for over ten years. A graduate from Loyola Marymount University, Malissa has worked in both inpatient and outpatient medical, psychiatric and community mental health settings. Malissa has been working with computers and technology since she was 6 years old and has presented the subject of teens and technology in several national conferences. Malissa will be discussing the topics of digital natives and the differences in brain functioning between an immigrant and a native next Monday with host, Lon Woodbury on "Parent Choices for Struggling Teens" on LA TALK radio.com, channel one at 12:00 noon- February 24th, Monday -Pacific Time.

Lon Woodbury and his guest will talk about the current trends with teens and technology and how those trends are impacting communication on a day to day basis. Malissa will also discuss the common mistakes professionals and parents are making when it comes to helping teens navigate the current technologies.

Please join us and discover how to "talk to a digital native" and how the two worlds can enhance one another.
