Terry Stednitz's life ended after a nearly five year struggle with breast cancer. Diagnosed as stage 4, Terry worked closely with her local oncologists, Dr. Lewis and oncologists from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She passed peacefully in April, in her home, with her husband at her side.
While always determined to put her children ahead of herself, Terry's life was devoted to her children, Michael, Sarah, and her step-son Nick. As she raised her children, she graduated from California State University at Long Beach, earned a Masters degree in counseling at the State University of Montana, and was a certified Real Estate Appraiser in San Luis Obispo county. Terry also worked as a high school counselor in California and Helena, Montana. Terry never concerned herself with developing her career. Her focus was to be available to her kids throughout her life. Being the best mother possible was of primary importance to Terry.
She was known as a brilliant and artistic woman, who was able to manage a loving home, a thriving work life, and a devoted support for her fellow cancer victims. Terry was always available to her friends who needed her wisdom.
Terry loved walking her dogs on the beach, collecting an impressive collection of sea glass. She created a home that displayed her creative and artistic interests and found beauty in the simple things of life.
Terry was always a seeker of truth and beauty. Throughout her life, she maintained friendships across the country, and a support system for her fellow cancer victims.
