Vive Family Support Program is excited to announce the addition of our new Admissions Counselor, Lydia Paris-Bishop, LMSW (Licensed Masters Social Work). She has been a therapeutic mentor for Vive, helping clients transition home from Wilderness Programs and Therapeutic Boarding Schools.
Here are some of Lydia's thoughts about her new role:
"After being on the ground for two years mentoring Vive clients, I am looking forward to serving them in additional ways. Being an admissions counselor is exciting for me because I get to connect with families, and I also get to form friendships with all the incredible people in our field who work so hard to strengthen these families before they come to Vive (ie. Ed consultants, therapists, and programs)."
Lydia has been employed with Vive since December 2010. She graduated in 2005 from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. After working for 2 years in Canton, GA as a probation officer for adults, she deciding to furthered her education by obtaining her Masters of Social Work from Kennesaw State University in 2010. She has worked with youth and young adults who struggle with substance abuse and other mental health issues in a variety of settings; including, juvenile detention facilities, private practices, and drug/alcohol treatment courts.
Lydia's background has helped her find her love for helping people through social work. She is a very energetic, fun loving, creative, and talkative person.
Lydia enjoys scrapbooking, cooking, outdoor activities, and playing with her house full of pets (3 dogs and 1 cat).
We are glad to have you joining us in a new capacity, Lydia!
Sincerely,
Catherine Howland
