Vista Counseling Services is pleased to announce its partnership with Utley Family Farms, a small family-owned and operated farm in a rural area just outside of Richfield, UT. The Farm consists of 200 acres of land in the Sevier Valley, and several animals including horses, cows, sheep and goats. Utley Family Farms will provide an outdoor, agrarian, volunteer experience for young adults in need of developing consistent patterns, routines and skills. Clients may choose to participate in activities and chores such as feeding/caring for animals and livestock, farming the fields, building fences, delivering hay, horseback riding, fishing, camping, etc.
Eric and Megann Utley, the young couple who manages and lives on the farm have a strong work ethic and are very outgoing. Eric is an easy going, outspoken cowboy. He is currently enrolled in the Welding program at Snow College. Eric worked for two years as a diesel mechanic at Dixie Diesel in St. George, UT. and currently runs and operates heavy machinery and farm equipment to maintain operation of the farm. Megann grew up just outside of St. George in Central, UT where she and her family lived on a large cattle ranch called the "Saucer 5 Ranch". She has lived around and worked with horses and livestock her whole life. Megann has been involved in many rodeo events including barrel racing and roping. Megann is a sweet, strong spirited country girl. Together they enjoy the outdoors and the simplicity and slower paced lifestyle that farming allows as opposed to city life.
