At ViewPoint Center, we have developed a home-like atmosphere that is very different from a typical sterile hospital environment. The Nursing staff wear casual yet professional clothing and interact with the patients on a daily basis.
In particular, the Nursing Department at ViewPoint Center sponsors Nurse-Directed Activities over the weekends to encourage patients to develop new talents and try new experiences. These activities help foster trust between the patient and the Registered Nurse. They also help the Registered Nurse be able to directly observe the patient in a variety of settings.
What are the Nurse Directed Activities?
Each month, the Nursing Supervisor presents the monthly Nurse-Directed Activity calendar and hangs it in the common area. Patients are encouraged to offer up ideas to the Nursing Supervisor regarding special areas of interest or activities that they would like to engage in. Wherever possible, these suggestions are implemented.
Below are some examples of enjoyable activities that have been fun and engaging for both The ViewPoint Center patients and staff:
Prize Bingo
Homemade Doughnuts
Lawn-Games Tournament
3 Mile Hike
Indoor Nerf Tournament
Smoothie Creation Contest
Making Kinetic Sand
Cake-Mix Waffles
Holiday Door Decorating Contest
Speed-Friending
Get To Know You Games
Outdoor Lawn Games
Board Game Tournament
Making Homemade Fudge
We are always open to the creative ideas of patients and look forward to the exciting activities to come!
