Happy New Year, and may 2010 be full of joy, peace, and prosperity!
Since our first student arrived at the end of March, we have enrolled seven students. In November we enrolled our first international student. We currently have two students.
Distance learning center is equipped to handle high school and college classes/credits/completion from a variety of competent providers.
Two of our recent students just successfully completed their first semester at the University of Montana, and our two current students are starting full-time in January.
Our home is designed to accommodate 10 young men and women (ages 18 to 24) in safe, segregated living quarters.
Our 3,000 square-foot garden is sleeping for the winter, but we continue to enjoy cooking with and eating the fruits of our labor.
We have added a community service initiative as part of our curriculum, and are involved with a local shelter where we will continue to volunteer throughout the winter.
Our heating system has been converted to a highly energy-efficient and solar-ready unit. We have set up a weather station to asses if we will benefit from wind-powered electricity.
We have installed a 12 x 30 horse barn with two stalls and one loafing shed.
We have also installed a wood-fired sauna outside.
Walking path up our mountainside (approximately 1 mile long) is used on a regular basis.
We have updated our website with more photos and text- please take a look!
Beginning in 2010, there will be a price increase for all new students, from $4,000.00/month to $4,500.00/month.
More to Come...
Set-up of Equine Therapy Programs- Part 1 of trainings to begin in June.
Periodic Wilderness First Responder Courses to be added to our curriculum for interested students.
The addition of a wall tent or yurt at the top of our mountain will be available for solo retreats after the winter is over.
