Valley View Parents Weekend

Valley View School has just celebrated another intensive and festive Parent's Weekend (October 13-14). Close to 200 parents and other family members gathered and met with teachers and administrators, watched athletic events, a drama production, and played soccer and tennis on our two newly built athletic surfaces.

A key speaker was nationally recognized expert Dr. Robert Brooks who talked about the phenomenon of "resilience" as a component of adolescent development. There were also extensive meetings with the school's psychiatrist Dr. Mathieu Bermingham, who talked about psychopharmacology as well as a newly implemented program of "telepsychiatry" which will further supplement his psychopharmacological services.

All in all it was tremendously gratifying experience for both staff and families who left feeling confident and reassured that their youngster "was in the right place".
