Dr. Edward Hallowell Talks
At Valley View Parents Weekend

Rick Bulger is happy to announce that Valley View School just recently celebrated their 12th Parents' Weekend. Over a three day October weekend, families from across the United States and several other countries were treated to a busy and interactive program enhanced by unseasonably warm temperatures and the colorful New England Autumn foliage. The weekend began with breakfast for all, followed by a parent forum featuring well-known speaker and author, Dr. Edward Hallowell. Dr. Hallowell has authored such books as Driven to Distraction and Positively ADD, and talked about his experiences with the strength-based approach with children. The afternoon continued with a barbeque lunch, more parent/teacher meetings, two exciting soccer games, a reception, dinner and a drama production by the Valley View Players. The following day, parents continued with meetings, and many were able to take their sons on an overnight visit, returning Monday evening. It was a great success, and both newer and veteran parents left with a feeling that their son "was in the right place".
