With a saddened heart we are announcing the resignation of Lorrain Stoddard, Young Adult Home Manager. It has been more than wonderful having her with us for the past 10 years and she will be missed immensely. Taking her place is Kellie Rieben whom is currently a shift lead in the Young Adult home. She comes with much experience and a lively passion to assist these young ladies in their journeys. We are excited to have her and look forward to working with her as the home manager.

As we make the transition, we have a few words from Lorraine and Kellie:

"Dear Parents,

I would like to take a moment and thank you for letting me work with your daughters. I have enjoyed getting to know them as we have travelled down the Uinta Academy path together. As the home manager of the Young Adult Home, it has been my joy to teach and help them and watch them progress. I need to inform you, however, that I will no longer be working at Uinta Academy. With the passing of my husband last year, I have found it necessary to spend more time with my family, and have a new job with hours that will meet this need for me. My hope is that there will be a smooth transition over to the new home manager, Kellie Rieben, whom most of you have probably already met, at least over the phone. She knows your daughters well, and has been working with them since their arrival at the Young Adult Home. Thank you for the help and support you have given me in my role as House Manager, and as you pass that support on to Kellie, I know she will serve you well." - Lorraine Stoddard

"To the Families of Uinta Academy,

As the new Young Adult Home Manager, saying, "I have big shoes to fill", could not be more of an understatement. Since starting at Uinta Academy in February 2010, I have had the opportunity of working with Lorraine Stoddard. She has been an exemplary supervisor, mentor and role-model. I will greatly miss working with her and the great experience she brought to the youth, family teachers, and treatment team of Uinta Academy. I owe my development as a family teacher to Lorraine due to her consistent guidance and support.

I am honored and grateful to Jeff and Becky Simpson for giving me this new experience and position at Uinta Academy. Since starting as a family teacher, I have loved this organization and the team that cares about the families and the girls that we serve. I am thrilled that I can continue to work with your daughters within the Milieu as part of the administrative and treatment team. Since I will be communicating with you about various needs and concerns that may arise during your daughter's time at Uinta, it is important that you know a little more about me and what I bring to this new role.

I received my Bachelors of Social Work from Utah State University (USU) in 2010. For the last three years I have continued my graduate school education at USU, and I will complete my Masters of Social Work this August, 2014. During my graduate school years I continued to work at Uinta Academy and have enjoyed my position as a shift supervisor in the West and Young Adult Homes.

I have had the opportunity of gaining various social work experiences throughout my graduate practicum assignments. I spent a year working as a social worker in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. I worked one on one with families under extreme stress and concern as they struggled with the various medical issues surrounding their child's care. This last year I have worked as a counselor at Utah State University, providing supervised therapy to college students struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety and self-esteem issues. I also took on the role as advocate and educator while interning for the Sexual Assault Anti-Violence Information (SAAVI) Office at USU. I currently live in Logan with my husband of five years and our two adopted rescue dogs, Ginger and Macey.

I look forward to meeting and getting to know each one of you as we communicate in the future. I love working with your daughters and feel it is a great privilege to continue to be a part of their success in treatment. I am available as a resource to you for any questions or concerns you may have regarding your daughters time at the Young Adult Home. As we move forward, I want to say thank you for the opportunity I have to work with and to get to know your family."

I look forward to hearing from you,

Kellie Rieben
