Tucson Transitional Living, (TTL) a long-term residential facility in operation since 2005, works with young adults 18-25 years of age looking for a long-term, happy, healthy, sober life. TTL combines the fundamentals of the 12-step program with individual coaching.
In 2010, V3 Tucson was acquired by Gatehouse Academy. In 2012 Tucson Transitional Living was founded following the closing of Gatehouse Academy. TTL management has taken the most effective elements of V3 Tucson and Gatehouse Academy to create the successful Tucson Transitional Living curriculum. Alumni from all three programs visit regularly because we are still "family" to them.
John Cimino, the CEO of Tucson Transitional Living, has 27 years of sobriety and is sharing his wealth of 12-step knowledge and experience with others. William Skinner, sober since 2003, is the Program Director and was previously the program director for V3 Tucson and Gatehouse Academy's Transitional program. Susan Blackwell, our residential staff supervisor, graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's degree and a Masters degree in Audiology. Tala, a residential tech, has been actively involved in a 12-step fellowship since 2009. Craig Lees LMSW, LISAC lends us his knowledge and expertise as our workshop coordinator. Dr. Yvonne Skinner NMD provides her holistic approach to the resident's various problems.
The program is comprised of three segments- Transitional Living, Sober University, and Independent Living. The stages are specifically designed to encourage long-term sobriety. Program curriculum includes 12-step meetings, academics, family workshops, weekly group therapy, community service, and regular athletics. Individual therapy is available in the Tucson community. Life skills of time management, budgeting, self care, and work ethic are learned in the first and second phases.
During Sober University, residents enroll in the University of Arizona or Pima Community College and work part-time. As life's learning opportunities arise, our caring staff members provide coaching, enabling the resident to find solutions experientially.
