True North is excited to announce our new base for winter operations, Teela-Wooket at Windridge Camp, a beautiful established summer tennis camp property in Roxbury, Vermont.

From November to April each year, our adolescent and young adult students will call Windridge home. From April to November True North will continue to use National and Vermont State Forest to support its expedition hiking model. In addition to the 250 acres of lush forest on the main campus, the property boast an additional 83 acres of remote land that offers year round activity for True North students such as camping and hiking in the spring, summer, and fall and day-use expeditions in the winter months. The property offers a variety of indoor facilities as well, including comfortable heated winter cabins, indoor tennis courts, horse stables, indoor mixed sports arena, yoga studio, dining commons, kitchen for culinary arts classes, and a charming historic inn with nine full bathrooms (offering regular showers and laundry facilities for our students) an ideal location for our parent workshops, family meetings, graduations and much more.

True North's wellness based programming and curriculum consistently references the local landscape and community. Windridge is centrally located to the tens of thousands of acres of pristine Roxbury state forest that True North accesses year round. In addition to True North's core curriculum and traditional wilderness skills this campus has allowed us to expand our healthy lifestyle programming, including yoga, meditation, and cooking classes taught by expert instructors.

Adolescent and young adult students who are enrolled through the winter months are sleeping every night, with their own group, in heated cabins or platform tents on the main property. Each cabin is fully winterized and outfitted with Rinnai heaters, bunk beds and ample living and sleeping space. We also have heated platform tents with comfortable bunk beds, which provide opportunities for students to experience a change of scenery and travel expedition style through the forested acreage of the property.

True North Wilderness Program provides personalized therapeutic interventions and transition support for 14-17 year old adolescents with an emphasis on assessment and family participation.
