This residential treatment center specializes in working with struggling boys, ages 12-17 and young men, ages 18-21. Originally founded in 1998, Triumph Youth Services began by providing services to adjudicated youth in Utah. Now, Triumph Youth has grown and currently operates four residential treatment centers and offers community outpatient services to males across the globe. TYS works with struggling males with substance abuse issues, depression, ODD, ADD, ADHD, RAD, bipolar disorder, anger management issues, school truancy and running away issues.
Licensed by the State of Utah Department of Human Services and the offices of Licensing and the Division of Juvenile Justice Services, this 6-12 month program is also accredited by NWAC and a member of NATSAP. Sterling Lyman the founder and co-owner, is a graduate of Southern Utah University. Prior to opening Triumph, Sterling worked with adjudicated kids as a youth advocate and a foster parent for DCFS, in addition to his work as a program director at a private program for struggling teens. Chanelle Toyn has been the Clinical Director for the past two years and prior work experience includes: counseling at Farmington Bay Youth Center Observation and Assessment, Millcreek Youth Center and Davis Behavioral Health. Brittani Lots is the Vice President and one of the original owners. She currently supervised the Triumph Academy.
With the motto of "work hard, play hard", Triumph Youth Services works with boys through the many facets of their programming. Therapies include individual, group and family therapy in addition to canine therapy, working with AKC Retrievers from puppies to adult dogs. Students also attend classes year round and are offered transition planning as well. Life skills courses and work ethic lessons are taught daily in addition to a wide variety of community service projects students participate in. Triumph Youth Services utilizes staff members as positive role models who are instrumental in the effectiveness of the Positive Peer Culture program, used to promote self confidence, responsibility and leadership skills.
