Trinity Wilderness Trails offers 12-18 year old girls a combination of wilderness therapy with animal therapy, equine assisted psychotherapy, therapeutic ROPES initiatives and traditional therapy in a Christian environment. They use “strong therapy theory and techniques, behavioral management and a modified 12-step approach to address drug/ alcohol and behavioral problems, while utilizing all that nature provides as a catalyst to change behavior.” Skilled therapists spend the entire time in the field.

They provide inpatient evaluations in a JCAHO accredited facility before or during the Wilderness Therapy Course if needed, and offer “New Beginnings” a family, 4-day weekend that “incorporates all of the above therapeutic approaches to assist and educate the families in understanding their special dynamic needs and begin their new life at home.”

The young women most likely to be helped by this program have these types of characteristics: they are beyond parental control; are rebellious, angry, defiant; have been suspended or expelled from school; have impulsivity and/or ADD/ADHD; are choosing the wrong friends; are dealing with issues of abandonment or adoption; alcohol/drug/cigarette use; academic underachievement; anxiety, depression and/or low self-esteem; are reacting to divorce, grief, loss, peer/sibling conflict or a traumatic past; and/or sexual promiscuity.

Trinity Wilderness Trails is owned and operated by the same people who own Mt. Carmel Youth Ranch for Boys.
