Friends and colleagues,
There is a time in all of our lives when our heart swells to the point that our chest feels like it will explode with emotion. For me, today is one of those days.
When the announcement went out on January 26, 2015 announcing my appointment at Trails Carolina, it was one of the highlights in my career, but I never imagined what a wonderful experience I would have over the last 16 months at Trails.
Graham Shannonhouse never ceases to amaze me. Her clinical insight and wisdom into the process and execution of wilderness therapy is second to none, but watching her bring a team together after a difficult time was remarkable. However, all of those amazing skills pale in comparison to her loyalty, her friendship, her humor, and her contagious laughter. I will cherish these gifts she gave me for the rest of my life. I can only hope that I can model her impeccable character and love for children going forward.
Recently, I had an incredible opportunity that has landed on my doorstep; thus, my last day at Trails Carolina will be July 31st. More information will be shared shortly about my new adventure, but today I want this moment to be about the Trails Carolina team and Graham.
I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank one of the greatest teams led by the most brilliant and caring woman that I have in my life.
Thank you, Trails Carolina and Graham!
Most Sincerely,
Dr. John L. Singleton, Director of Business Development

Trails Carolina is a wilderness therapy program based just outside of Asheville, North Carolina that offers a multi-dimensional wilderness therapy model to troubled adolescents, ages 10-17. Trails capitalizes upon the profound effects of a student's wilderness experience, and then combines that experience with strong clinical assessments and therapy.
