Three Springs of North Carolina announced today that they are planning to expand programming on campus. The campus currently provides programming in an outdoor therapeutic setting. Existing services will be enhanced to provide innovative and progressive adolescent treatment services.

A Day Treatment program will serve youth from the local school district and is scheduled for opening during the month of October. Three Springs plans to establish a 36 bed Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), for males and females at the Pittsboro location. According to Caitlyn Martin, MSW, "We are implementing evidence-based gender specific programming utilizing diagnostic assessments to evaluate students in the progress in the program while focusing on their individual clinical goals as part of treatment." Families can anticipate increased opportunities for program involvement. Specialty groups are being added to address issues such as substance abuse, adoption, grief and loss, trauma and sexual abuse. The on-grounds school is SACS-CASI accredited and the current program is CARF accredited. School is an important part of the program. Ann Scott, MA School Administrator and Principal at the school said, "Students who have been behind in school can benefit from the small classroom environment. Curriculum is individualized to address the child's academic needs and interests."

"We will continue to operate the Outdoor Therapeutic Program. Throughout the history of the North Carolina program we've accepted private referrals from families and educational consultants. In the coming months we look forward to re-introducing our new capabilities," stated Ron Brown the program's Administrator.
