The Greenwood School provides intelligent boys with learning differences a unique and powerful program proven to help them build successful futures. For over thirty years, our boarding school's focus has been empowering boys in middle school through 9th grade. After years of encouragement from Educational Consultants and families, we are excited to announce an expansion of programming into high school (grades 9-12). Greenwood is currently accepting 9th and 10th grade applicants; 11th grade will be added in September, 2012, and 12th grade will be added in 2013.

The Greenwood School, located in Putney, VT (www.Greenwood.org) offers our students a singular experience. With our industry leading 2:1 student: teacher ratio, small environment (50 students), family culture, personalized programming, and integrated educational therapies (Occupational Therapy, Social Pragmatics, Speech and Language, Life Skills) Greenwood effectively works with high potential students who struggle with complex learning challenges, ADHD, and/or executive dysfunction. With a new dormitory and woodshop (completed in January, 2011), and our current capital investment in innovative Assistive Technologies, Greenwood is now strongly positioned to expand programming into high school.

Greenwood's small size not only offers students intensive learning opportunities, but also opportunities for leadership; opportunities for successes to be noticed and celebrated, and opportunities for developing confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills before transitioning to a more traditional high school or to college. Strong enrichment programs-specifically in outdoor adventure and the arts-ensure our students discover their passions and develop their strengths. By blending capabilities for remediation and other educational therapies into the broader curriculum, we are uniquely positioned to help students prepare for the next step in their education.

That there is a need for a high school reflecting Greenwood's culture and approach is clear. As Dr. PJ McDonald, Headmaster at Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, MA notes, "Enrollment demand for high schools that truly understand and value learning differences is growing at a seemingly exponential rate. Greenwood is the ideal place for young men who will thrive in their unique, nurturing, and individualized educational environment. By expanding their program through the 12th grade, Greenwood is providing a needed and valuable service."

We look forward to celebrating our first high school graduating class in 2014!

All my best,
Stewart Miller
