Christopher Mays, Director of Business Development for Surf House Puerto Rico is pleased to announce the acquisition of a new property in Rincon, Puerto Rico. The Coastal Education and Career Center is a 4,400 square foot multi-use building serving as our administrative offices, classrooms, counseling offices, student lounge, and independent living apartments. This expansion allows students to attend classes in a formal setting and serves as a base of operations for career exploration and education.
The primary benefit for students at the Coastal Education and Career Center is being able to live, work, and go to school while participating as a part of the local town and community of Rincon. For young men and women who have been in a restrictive environment it is a way to practice independence with the support and structure necessary for success. Students are able to walk or bike to many of the job internships, public beach and Spanish Colonial town square. In addition to career exploration, students are able to participate in many of the local non-profit groups such as local farmers market, Animal Rescue Foundation, Surfrider Foundation, Rincon Film Festival, Rincon Triathlon, and Rincon stand up paddleboard race. There are also numerous community holiday events and activities.
